Switching plans in Core is simplified using the Switch Plan feature in your Core dashboard.
Search for Member: From the Core dashboard, select People, then select Members to search for the member whose plan you want to change. (You can also use the search bar)
Click the three dots next to the current plan, then choose "Switch Plan."
In the Switch plan menu, you'll see the Current plan. Select New Plan and click "Next."
Select any applicable discounts. NOTE: Existing discounts will be prefilled; if no discount is applied, bypass this step.
A setup fee will be prefilled if applicable. If you want to waive it, set the fee to $0.
Choose when to switch:
Now: The current plan ends immediately, and the new plan starts right away with payment for any prorated charges.
Next Bill Date: The current plan remains active until the next billing date, when the new plan takes effect.
Confirm Details: Apply the payment method, confirm the billing summary before saving
Save:
If "Now" is selected, only the new plan will show on the member's profile.
If the next bill date is selected, the current plan will show as pending cancellation, and the new plan will show as pending activation.
This process offers flexibility for admins to efficiently manage plan changes with transparent fee and timing options.
A confirmation email of the switch is sent to the admin and member in accordance with automatic communications settings.
FAQs
Discounts will generally be the same expect when it comes to a discount with a set number of occurrences. For example: A discount is set to occur 12 times. After 4 occurrences, a member switches plan and the admin continues with the discount. The discount number of occurrences will rest back to 0. If the current plan has a discount applied to it, that will be considered in the prorated calculation
Plans with set up fees applied will have the set up fee applied in the first month of the switch.
Prorated plan fees of a plan is switched immediately will be calculated and applied to the first bill of the new plan.
If a member is downgrading a plan and the difference with proration is less than or equal to $1, the 'Now' option will be disabled and the downgrade will occur on the next bill date.
