Creating, applying, and providing discounts for plans

Providing discounts to members allows you to limit the number of Plans you have setup and to use discounts to alter the price of a plan for a specific person.

  • Discounting will keep your list of plans manageable.

  • Adding or removing a discount for a member is often easier than upgrading or downgrading plans should circumstances change.

  • Discount calculations are automatically factored into plan pricing changes.

  • Invoices and plan descriptions in the member app emphasizes to the member they are getting a discount off the regular price.

Creating discounts:

  • From the core dashboard, select "Plans" then select "Discounts"

  • Select "Create New Membership Discount"

  • Complete the discount info making sure to pay close attention to:

    • Amount: Whether the discount will apply a percentage or cash based discount.

    • Duration: Whether the discount is intended to be applied forever or for a set duration. Duration refers to the number of billing cycles.

  • "Submit" to save the changes

  • Repeat this process for any discounts you intend to use for plans

  • All saved discounts will be visible as "Membership Discounts"

Adding a discount on plan assignment to a member:

  • When assigning a plan to a member, any pre-made discount will be listed to select from the "Which Discount" drop down.

  • Once the discount is added, you'll see the adjustment to the billed amount just before selecting the payment method.

Adding a discount after a plan is assigned to a member:

  • From the member's profile page, select the three dots next to the plan name and select "Change Amount/Discount"

  • Select the discount you want applied in the "Change Discount To" drop down

  • The adjusted recurring amount is shown in "Amount After Discount"

  • Select "Save Changes"

Adding a one time discount:

  • One-time discounts can be created as a pre-made discount or by manually adding the amount after a plan has been assigned to a member.

  • From the member's profile page, select the three dots next to the plan name and select "Change Amount/Discount"

  • Enter the dollar amount into the "One Time Discount" field

  • The adjusted recurring amount is shown in "Amount After Discount"

  • Select "Save Changes"

Adding a discount from a landing page:

  • From the core dashboard, select "Plans" then select "Plans" and locate the plan you want to send a prospective member and add a discount to. NOTE: Core does not support sending a discount "code" for a member to enter for the discount.

  • Select the three dots next to the plan and select "View Plan Info"

  • Select "View Page" from the Landing Page menu section

  • Select "Yes" to the optional discount and select the intended discount from the drop down

  • Copy & paste the landing page link or select "View Landing Page" to open the landing page in a new web browser window.

  • Send the landing page link to the prospective member

Leveraging discounts for family plans:

  • Family Plans are great options to get the entire family on-board and become members. PushPress recommends that each member at your facility hold their own membership.

    • Easily add or take away discount when members are added or removed without disruption of plan or payment.

    • Track member check ins for data and liability.

    • Digital docs - waivers and agreements are signed by each individual.

    • Keep plan offerings at the gym small and organized.

  • Assign the same plan to family members you would to any other member but use 'discounts' to modify the plan to a cheaper rate.

"Stacking" discounts:

  • You can only apply one discount code per plan. However, there could be a use case where you need to add more than one discount to a Members plan.

  • Modify base plan amount: Best used if you have a permanent discount but need to add a single use discount. For example: Family member on a family member discount that you want to give a single use referral discount to.

    • From the member's profile, select the three dots next to the plan and select "Change Amount/Discount"

    • Remove the listed discount

    • Change the "Subscription Price" to the amount of the full price plan minus the permanent discount that was removed. This will permanently change the price of the plan moving forward to the previously discounted rate.

    • Add a "One Time Discount" in for the dollar amount of the temporary discount.

    • The adjusted recurring amount is shown in "Amount After Discount"

    • Select "Save Changes"

  • Create a combined discount: Best used if you are permanently stacking discounts for a member. For example: Family member that also receives a secondary discount or if there are additional discounts applied to added members of a household.

    • From the core dashboard, select "Plans" then select "Discounts"

    • Select "Create New Membership Discount"

    • Complete the discount info making sure to pay close attention to:

      • Amount: Whether the discount will apply a percentage or cash based discount.

      • Duration: Whether the discount is intended to be applied forever or for a set duration. Duration refers to the number of billing cycles.

    • "Submit" to save the changes

    • Apply the discount to the member's profile using the previously mentioned steps.
