How to Setup WhatsApp for new accounts and more

In order to use WhatsApp in PushPress Grow, you will need to ensure that you verify your business inside of Meta (formally Facebook). To learn more about verifying your business in Meta, check out this help article.

To register your business with Meta, you will also need to make sure that the legal business name you supply for verification is displayed on your website. For example, if your website URL is www.yourgymname.com and the legal business name on your official documents shows XYZ Gym, Meta will likely reject this submission. Instead, we suggest that you submit a website edit request to add your legal business name into the footer area of your website. Here is an example:

Unsupported Countries for Coexistence feature

WhatsApp Business accounts do not support phone numbers with country codes from the following regions and countries. If your business operates in these locations, you may need to explore alternative solutions.

Unsupported Countries

WhatsApp Business account phone numbers from the following countries are not supported:

  • Australia

  • India

  • Japan

  • Nigeria

  • Philippines

  • Russia

  • South Korea

  • South Africa

  • Turkey

Unsupported Regions & Kingdoms

Additionally, WhatsApp Business account phone numbers with country codes from the following regions are not supported:

  • European Economic Area (EEA)

  • European Union (EU)

  • United Kingdom (UK)


Methods to Sign Up and Connect the WhatsApp Business Account/App

How to Sign Up using the WhatsApp Business App

Start Signup: Go to Settings > WhatsApp > Signup with Facebook in your LeadConnector account.

Facebook Registration: Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in and authorize via Facebook.

Connect to LeadConnector: Click Get Started to link your WhatsApp Business account.

Business Info: Enter your business details as prompted.

Select Onboarding: Choose “Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App”.

Confirm Connection: Share your WhatsApp Business account with LeadConnector. You will retain full access to your app.

Add Phone Number: Provide the WhatsApp number you want to connect.

Verify Details: Review and confirm your WhatsApp Business account information.

Import Contacts & Chats: Update WhatsApp Business App to the latest version. Import contacts and chats (up to 6 months). Look for a QR code message from Facebook.

Connect via QR Code: Scan the QR code using WhatsApp to finalize the link.

Connect to the Business Platform: Scan the QR code to complete the connection. You can continue using your WhatsApp Business App along with the Business Platform.

Share History & Contacts: WhatsApp contacts and chats will sync securely with LeadConnector.

Setup Complete: Your WhatsApp Business App is now fully integrated with LeadConnector.

NOTE:

1. Sending template messages is not supported via WhatsApp Business App, it can only be send through the CRM

2. You will be able to manage your WhatsApp profile from the WhatsApp Business App, and not from the CRM

3. You can only have maximum of one phone number under coexistence

Connect a New WhatsApp Business Number

Step-by-Step Instructions

Purchase a LeadConnector (LC) Phone Number

  • Buy a LeadConnector phone number.

  • Forward calls from this number to your primary contact number.

Start the Signup Process

  • Navigate to Settings > WhatsApp > Set Up a New WhatsApp Number.

Continue with Facebook

  • Click Continue with your Facebook account to proceed.

Begin the Setup

  • Tap Get Started to initiate the integration process.

Enter Business Details

  • Fill in the required business information.

  • Click Next to continue.

Create a WhatsApp Business Account

  • Select Create WhatsApp Business Account.

Confirm Your Selection

  • Click Next to proceed.

Save & Complete Setup

  • Click Save to apply your settings.

Complete the Setup

  • Tap Finish. Your WhatsApp Business Account is now integrated.

Phone Number Verification

  • Click Add Phone Number and follow the verification steps.

Choose a Verification Method

  • Text Message (SMS): Select to receive an OTP via SMS.

    • Retrieve the code from the Conversations tab.

  • Phone Call: Select to receive a verification call on your forwarded number.

Enter the 6-Digit OTP

  • Input the 6-digit OTP received via SMS or call.

Verification Complete

  • Your WhatsApp Business number is now verified and ready to use.


Restrictions for WhatsApp Business Sign-Up

When registering for the WhatsApp Business Platform, the following restrictions apply:

New Phone Number Requirement

  • You must register with a new phone number, regardless of whether you’re onboarding manually or through embedded signup.

  • Important: Phone numbers that are already active on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business App cannot be used for registration.

Once you migrate a phone number to the WhatsApp Business Platform, you cannot use that number on the WhatsApp Business App concurrently. Your number must be used either on the Business Platform or on the Business App.

Connect your Existing WhatsApp Business App

You can connect your WhatsApp Business app to a Facebook Page to enhance communication and visibility for your business.

Requirements

Before linking, make sure you have:

  • A Facebook Page for your business.

  • An active WhatsApp Business app account.

  • The latest versions of both the WhatsApp Business and Facebook apps installed on your device.


How to Link Your Accounts

  • Open the WhatsApp Business app on your mobile device.

    • On Android: Tap More options (three dots).

    • On iPhone: Tap Settings.

  • Navigate to Business Tools > Facebook & Instagram.

  • Tap Facebook > Continue. This opens the Facebook login screen.

  • Enter your Facebook account login details and tap Log In.

  • Select the Facebook Page you want to link and tap Connect WhatsApp.

  • If you don’t already have a Facebook Page, you’ll be prompted to create one.

  • A WhatsApp button will now appear on your Facebook Page.

  • Return to the WhatsApp Business app — your linked Facebook Page will be visible at the top of the Facebook & Instagram screen.


WhatsApp Messaging in Workflows

Note: Meta has strict guidelines about sending WhatsApp messages to any contact outside of a 24-hour period. Therefore, when your campaign templates are approved, they should help navigate around this block.
