Using the Allow Duplicates Feature in Grow by PushPress

Finally, a way to have your linked accounts (sub accounts) from Core sync to your Grow account.

Impact of “Allow Duplicate Contact”

  • The “Allow Duplicate Contact” feature, when “ON”, allows the gym to push Linked Account Contacts and associated data to Grow.

  • This feature allows 2 Contacts to share the same email and phone number in Grow, but keep the conversation associated with that specific contact. Further, when any check-in or other event in PushPress Core occurs, it will update the appropriate profile in Grow. This allows gym owners to celebrate milestones for both primary and linked accounts.

Allow Duplicates FAQ:

How do I enable or disable this setting?

  • Under each sub-account, navigate to Settings → Business Profile → Contact Deduplication Preferences to toggle on or off. Note: this setting does not have a save action, it will autosave.

Do I have access to change this setting?

  • Yes! Follow the directions above to turn on Allow Duplicates

Is this setting ON by default in the snapshot?

  • New sync clients are OFF by default

  • Legacy sync is OFF and can’t be turned on.

Who would benefit most from having Allow Duplicates turned ON?

  • Gyms that specialize in youth sports or have many Linked Accounts were previously limited by information pushing to Grow. Now, with this feature and how we are sending information across from both systems, having the “allow duplicates” turned on will allow both Primary and Linked Accounts to be in the system at the same time and not overwrite the data on each contact. This allows the gyms to send check-in milestones, etc, to the Linked Account (child) information provided. Which, in most cases will be the Primary account details (parent).

  • Gyms using the website primarily for leads and are not heavy GHL form users for existing member information

Who would benefit from having Allow Duplicates turned OFF?

  • Gyms that have a small percentage of members under 18 years old.

  • Gyms that have many GHL intake forms on their website. This will cause an excess of duplicates. Sites are primarily designed to target Leads and nurture prospects; however, because Core lacks a form builder and some shortcomings of commerce pages, clients will use GHL forms to fill this gap. Examples: Event registration, Member cancellation, pre-appointment questionnaire, In-body scans, etc. In these scenarios, the form submissions create a new contact with each submission.

Why can’t we have a separate email and phone for the Linked Account?

  • In most States, emailing and marketing to minors under 14 years of age is illegal. So, to help prevent our gym owners from infractions, we are using the primary account holder listed on the linked account as the email and phone for the minor account. However, it is possible to have a different email in Core for your linked accounts, just not as common.

Should duplicates be merged?

  • Contacts can be easily merged in the GHL (Grow) interface. If you prefer a clean contact list, feel free to merge duplicate contacts.
