Ramp Up Policy

When sending SMS messages, we will begin with a small number to ensure everything is working well. Then, each day that you hit the max, we'll gradually increase the number of messages we send to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. This also helps build your 'Trust Score' with mobile carriers.

Please note that for campaign-related communications, there is a daily SMS sending limit of 500 messages. Exceeding this limit will flag your account and might block further sends for the day.

Here's how our ramp-up policy works:

  • Stage 1 - 100

  • Stage 2 - 250

  • Stage 3 - 500 (daily limit)

  • Stage 4-8: Maintain the daily cap of 500 messages for campaigns

This ramp-up will start on the day when the first successful SMS message is sent that hits the maximum number

Note that this is subject to the maximum daily limit of 500 messages for campaigns.

EXAMPLE: When you send 100 text messages in one single day, you have to wait for 24 hours before you can send more. This waiting time helps keep your number safe. After 24 hours, you will proceed to stage 2, where you can now send up to 250 messages in one single 24-hour period. If you send that many, you must wait again, and the number of messages you can send will increase to the next stage. This keeps happening each time you reach the limit.

  • This ramp-up model helps protect our ability to send messages and also builds a good relationship with phone carriers.

Prevent Losing Phone Privileges

  1. Common Reasons for Suspension:

    • High Error Rate: Excessive errors in messaging activity.

    • High Opt-Out Rate: Indication of unwanted or unsolicited messaging.

  2. Consent and Opt-In Requirements:

    • Obtain explicit consent before messaging.

    • Clearly state how recipient information will be used.

    • Keep a record of consent; it cannot be purchased or exchanged.

  3. Sender Obligations:

    • Identify yourself as the sender in every message.

    • Include opt-out language like "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" in the initial message.

  4. Prohibited Behaviors:

    • Sending unsolicited or mass marketing messages on long codes.

    • Harassing, abusive, or illegal content (e.g., references to THC/CBD or criminal activity, some words).

    • Misrepresenting identity or engaging in fraud/phishing.

    • Marketing to minors under 14.

  5. Best Practices:

    • Avoid excessive ALL CAPS, emojis, or exclamation points.

    • Use "drip mode" for mass messaging (15-20 messages/hour max).

    • Follow country-specific guidelines for marketing messages.

  6. Restricted Activities:

    • Recycling or provisioning additional phone numbers after restriction.

    • Using Twilio numbers for emergency services (e.g., 911).

  7. Key Metrics:

    • Good Opt-Out Rate: 0–0.3%.

    • Good Error Rate: 0–6%.

How to send group messages in PushPress Grow while maintaining compliance?

  1. Key Highlights from the Video

    • Sending group emails and text messages in PushPress Grow.

    • Staying compliant with A2P messaging guidelines (avoiding high opt-out rates).

    • Using “drip mode” to space out messages for compliance.

  2. Actionable Steps

    • Navigate to the Contacts section in Grow.

    • Create smart lists to group contacts (e.g., Warm Leads, Members).

    • Use the “Drip Mode” feature for scheduling and spacing messages.

    • Adjust batch quantities, timing, and days for sending messages.

Drip mode helps to stagger your SMS sends over time, providing better control within the daily limit of 500 messages while ensuring compliance and bandwidth for replies.

Financial Costs

Grow is an easy system to communicate with leads, members, and ex-members alike. You can easily text them with your Grow phone number and even send mass text messages. Even though it is easy to do Grow users need to understand that there is a financial cost to send each SMS message to leads and clients.

  • The cost per SMS segment is around .02 cents.

  • Each SMS segment is often equal to 160 characters.

Your specific plan and region might affect these costs. For instance, switching to the Grow Plan could provide advanced features that better align with high-volume SMS needs.

Emojis, spacing, links, and attachments can all increase the characters used per segment so it is good practice to use a segment calculator before sending out a bunch of text messages.

Your cost per SMS segment does vary on your region and country in the world.
