Sending mass emails or SMS messages can be a powerful way to communicate with your clients, but it’s important to do so in a compliant and efficient manner. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to send bulk messages via email or SMS using your PushPress Grow account, while staying compliant with messaging regulations like A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging
Here’s a detailed guide to sending SMS or email messages to groups of contacts in PushPress Grow, while staying compliant with messaging regulations:
Step 1: Access the Contact Section
Log into your Grow account.
Navigate to the Contact section via the left-hand menu.
Explore the Smart Lists, which categorize contacts into groups like:
Cold Leads
Warm Leads
Trials
Members (Active or Paused)
Ex-Members
These lists help you quickly locate the specific group you want to message.
Step 2: Select the Group to Message
Choose the relevant Smart List (e.g., Members, Trials, or Cold Leads).
Use the Select option to pick the contacts you want to message.
By default, this selects the first 20 people.
Adjust the selection to include additional contacts as needed.
Step 3: Choose the Message Type
For SMS: Click the Text icon to begin composing your message.
For Email: Click the Email icon to start drafting your email.
Step 4: Compose Your Message
For SMS:
Type your message in the provided text box.
Keep your message concise and engaging.
For Email:
Fill in the From Name and From Email fields.
Write your email content, ensuring it’s clear and professional.
Drip Mode for Bulk Messages:
Enable Drip Mode:
This ensures messages are sent in small batches, reducing opt-out rates and staying compliant with A2P messaging standards.
Configure Drip Settings:
Name the Action: E.g., “Class Update Notification.”
Set Start Time: Choose when to begin sending messages (e.g., 5:17 PM).
Batch Quantity: Specify how many messages to send per batch (e.g., 20 messages every 15 minutes or every two days).
Days and Hours of Operation:
Restrict sending to specific days (e.g., Monday–Friday).
Limit sending hours (e.g., 7:30 AM–7:00 PM).
Step 5: Send the Message
After configuring your batch settings, click Send SMS or Send Email.
Messages will be sent in the scheduled batches according to your drip settings.
Step 6: Review and Monitor Your Campaign
After sending, monitor the campaign’s performance:
Check delivery success rates and recipient engagement.
Pay attention to unsubscribe rates and opt-outs.
If you notice high opt-out rates or delivery issues, consider:
Adjusting the content or tone of your message.
Reducing the message frequency or batch size.
Best Practices for Mass Messaging
Avoid Sending Hundreds of Messages at Once:
Sending large quantities all at once can lead to high opt-out rates and hurt your sender reputation. Always use Drip Mode.
Ensure A2P Compliance:
Familiarize yourself with A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging guidelines to avoid penalties and maintain deliverability.
PushPress adheres to these regulations, so follow their recommendations.
