Add a Staff Member in Core by PushPress

Staff access is beneficial for managing schedules, signing up members, processing transactions, and managing leads.

How to Set Up a Staff Member in PushPress

  • Adding through the Dashboard: Directly add new staff members via the “Add New Staff Member” option.

  • Promoting a Member to Staff: Upgrade an existing member’s status to staff from their profile.

  • Staff Roles Overview: Staff roles in PushPress include Administrator, Coach, and Front Desk, each with specific permissions and access levels.

Adding a New Staff Member

  • Navigate to: People

  • Select "+ Person" then select Staff

  • Complete:

  • Log in Info

  • Personal Info

  • Pay Rates

  • Set their Access Role.

  • Decide on access to the Control Panel.

  • Use a Dedicated Email for each staff member rather than emails tied to other purposes, such as administrator login or kiosk setups. This avoids authentication conflicts.

Additional Staff Setup Details

  • Coaching Pay Rate:

  • Set specific pay rates for each coach based on class type.

  • Example: Specialty classes can have higher rates than general classes.

  • Note: Adding Class Types with require you to update the pay rate in the staff member's profile.

  • Coaching Check-In Pay:

  • Incentivize coaches based on the number of members checked into class.

  • Example: $0.50 for each member checked in.

  • Assistant Coaching Pay Rate:

  • Set a separate rate for assistant coaches.

  • Example: Main coach gets $20, while the assistant gets $10.

  • Note: Coach Check-In for Pay Verification.

  • Coaches must check into their classes to verify attendance for payroll calculations.

  • Reports -> Payroll to see totals for a given period.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Staff Member Redirected to the Member App

  • Confirm their role is appropriately set to a staff designation like Coach or Front Desk in PushPress Core.

  • Have them log out, close the app, and log in again using their credentials.

Newly Added Coach Not Appearing in the Staff Section

  • Open the member’s profile in PushPress Core, scroll to the bottom, and update their role to the appropriate staff designation.

  • After updating, they will appear in the staff section, and pay rates can be adjusted.

Coach Not Appearing in Member Searches

  • This is normal behavior, as the system prioritizes coaches over members. Profiles tagged as coaches may not show up in member searches but are correctly configured.
