An alternate to using the check-in app is a USB bar code scanner connected to a computer

Updated over a week ago

For open gym based facilities, you can use barcodes in the member app to check clients into open gym or no class. This can be done by having the Core Dashboard page open and active on a computer. When someone scans their code on the scanner, it will automatically check them in.

Hardware

To use this feature, you will need a USB barcode scanner. These are widely available and can be purchased for around $20. If you plan to use the Member App QR code to scan, make sure your scanner can read both QR codes and barcodes. You can find a suitable scanner here.

Cards

In order for the barcode scanning feature to work, you will need to use plastic cards with sequential barcodes between 6 and 12 numbers. These codes must be numerical only. You can order custom barcode cards from a variety of vendors, such as Plastic Card Monster.

How to Check Members In Using the Member App QR Code or a Barcode

In the latest version of the PushPress Members app, you can access a QR code on the main screen. To do this, simply click on the location in the app to open the member-specific QR code. Then, scan the code just as you would when using the check-in process for barcodes.
