Create Custom Habits

Designing Effective Habits in Train by PushPress

When creating habits in Train, it’s essential to consider how scoring works and how you’ll verify compliance. Habits in Train are scored in a Yes or No format, meaning members will “check off” whether they completed the habit.

Tips for Effective Habit Design:

  • Focus on habits that can be answered with Yes or No.

  • Example: Track “Sleep 6-8 hours” instead of “How many hours did you sleep?”

  • Frame habits as clear, actionable goals that are easy for members to log.

This approach ensures that habits are simple, measurable, and aligned with Train’s tracking system, making it easier for members to stay consistent and for coaches to monitor compliance.


How to Create or Edit Habits in PushPress Train

Follow these steps to create new habits or edit existing ones:

  • Navigate to Habit Tracking:

    • Go to Coaching > Habit Tracking > Custom Habits.

    • Note: If you’ve already created habits, you’ll find them listed here.

  • Create a New Habit Program:

    • Click Create Habit.

    • Give the program a name (e.g., Daily Health Checklist).

    • Click Confirm to create the habit program.

    • Note: The program name doesn’t need to be the specific habit name; it can represent a collection of habits.

  • Set Up Daily Tasks:

    • Next to the habit program name, click the Workout Builder button.

    • Define the daily tasks related to the habit program.

    • Example: For a Daily Health Checklist program, create daily habits such as:

      • Sleep tracking.

      • Nutrition tracking.

      • Workout completion.


Assigning Habits & Logging Results

Assigning Habit Tracking to Members

You can add habit tracking to an existing workout program or create a new daily program specifically for habit tracking.

  • Go to Workout Programs: Navigate to the Workout Programs section.

  • Select the Workout Builder: Open the Workout Builder for the program where you want to assign the habit.

  • Manage Templates: Click on Manage Templates and select Habit Tracking.

  • Assign the Habit: Choose the habit and assign it to the desired date within the program.

  • Save the Programming: Save the habit tracking within the Daily Program or Personal Training program.

Logging Habits in the Member App

  • Log into the Member App: Open the app and sign in.

  • Access the Schedule: Select Schedule-Workouts and navigate to the program containing the habit tracking.

  • Log Results: Click Log Results under the assigned habit & mark the habit as complete by logging it in the app.


How to View Member Compliance in Habit Tracking

Train provides a Compliance Report to track how well your members or clients are logging their assigned habits. Note that the compliance percentage reflects the ratio of habits logged in the app to habits programmed, not the percentage of the habit goal being met.


Steps to View Compliance

  • Log into Train: Go to Train.pushpress.com and sign in.

  • Access the Compliance Report: Navigate to Coaching > Habit Tracking > Compliance Report.

  • Apply Filters:

    • Filter 1: Select the desired habit to view compliance for.

    • Filter 2: Choose the workout program type (e.g., Daily Program, Personal Training).

    • Filter 3: Select the specific workout program.

    • Date Range: Adjust the filter to view compliance over a specific time period.

  • View the Compliance Score: The report will display the compliance percentage for the selected criteria, giving you insight into how consistently members are tracking their habits.
