Why did you pick the data points you did for the 2024 Year in Review?
The team carefully chose the data points for the 2024 Year in Review to ensure that all members—regardless of their engagement level—could find something meaningful and insightful about their check-in patterns.
By including these data points, the Year in Review balances motivation with self-awareness, offering each member a chance to reflect on their habits and find inspiration for improvement, regardless of where they stand on their fitness journey.
Key Considerations:
Motivational Value:
The total number of check-ins is the primary quantifiable data point.
For most members, this number serves as a motivating metric to reflect on their efforts and progress over the year.
Inclusivity:
The Year in Review does not limit display to a specific number of check-ins, ensuring all members are included regardless of their engagement level.
Transparency:
Members already see their year-to-date check-ins on the home page of the Members or Branded App throughout the year.
The total check-ins in the Year in Review should not come as a surprise, even for members with a lower total.
Are workout / Train-related data points included in the 2024 Year in Review?
For the inaugural 2024 Year in Review, Train-related data points are not included. This decision allows the team to focus on a streamlined and impactful experience centered around attendance and engagement metrics.
Future Plans:
If the 2024 Year in Review proves successful, the project will expand in subsequent years to incorporate additional valuable data points, including:
Train-related metrics (e.g., workout logs, program completion rates, PRs).
Other meaningful data to enhance the personalization and value of the Year in Review for members.
Will my gym or studio’s logo be on my members’ Year in Review?
Yes! As long as a gym or studio’s logo is set up in Core, it will be shown on their members’ Year in Review.
Am I able to update the design of the Year in Review?
For the first year of this project, we are using the same design across all Members and Branded Apps. However, if this first year of Year in Review is successful, we may expand the capability to allow various options.
Why does the pre-launch widget go live early Dec., and actual Year in Review go live on Jan. 3rd?
Why January?
Captures a Full Year of Data:
Launching in January ensures that every check-in from the entire year, including late-December activity, is reflected accurately.
A mid-December launch would require continual data refreshes and risk excluding end-of-year activity.
Consistent Year-Round Data Display:
Unlike projects like Spotify Wrapped, which use a cutoff date and don’t show cumulative data year-round, the PushPress home page displays total check-ins throughout the year.
Capturing the full year’s data aligns with the existing year-to-date tracking and ensures completeness.
Engagement Strategy:
Pre-Launch Widget (December 1st):
Introduced to encourage additional reservations and check-ins before the year ends.
Designed to build excitement and prompt activity during a historically lower-engagement month.
Two Engagement Peaks:
Early December: Driven by the pre-launch widget as members take action to boost their activity.
Early January: Following the official Year in Review launch, as members explore their personalized data and share their recap.
Why This Approach Works:
By choosing January for the official launch, PushPress ensures accurate, comprehensive data while leveraging December’s pre-launch phase to drive engagement. This strategy maximizes member participation and positions the Year in Review as both a reflection of the past year and a motivator for the year ahead.
