Due to tightening security measures and ensuring anyone who should not have access to our systems (Core, Staff App, Members App, etc.) does not have access, there are a few things to expect:
As long as a user opens the Staff App (or keeps the Staff App Kiosk Mode open) within the last 30 days, they will not be logged out again.
If a user does NOT open the Staff App within the last 30 days, then opens the Staff App, they will need to login to the Staff App again. To maintain stable sessions, iPad users should ensure the Staff App is reopened periodically, or follow specific troubleshooting steps such as disabling auto-lock settings and updating their iPadOS.
How can a user login to Staff App?
Assuming a user is set up as a staff member in Core (Promote to Staff Member), they have three options to login:
Email and password
Email and an emailed passcode
The reset password emails a code to input alongside a new password in the app. This will then automatically log the user in
How does switching gyms work within Staff App?
Users will also need to log in again to verify their credentials when switching to a different gym from the Staff App. For example, if I am a staff member at five different gyms, I will need to log in to each five times.
What happens if a staff member is demoted or leave?
Staff members who are demoted to members or deleted will now be logged out of the app whichever one comes first:
When the staff member closes the app and then re-opens it.
Within 30 minutes of their status being changed from staff member to member or deleted (which refreshes the log in token with the staff app).
How to Prevent Frequent Logouts on iPads
Frequent logouts on iPads can be resolved by applying these troubleshooting measures: updating the iPadOS, reinstalling the app, configuring auto-lock settings to 'Never,' force quitting and restarting the app, or rebooting the device. Additionally, keeping the iPad connected to a power source for kiosk use helps ensure session stability.
