What Counts as a Miscellaneous Sale

Miscellaneous sales are charges added to an invoice without a product category — specifically any charge not attributed to a product. Common examples:

  • NSF fees

  • Custom charges created via "Create a Charge" on a member profile that weren't assigned to a product

Tip: To keep your Retail Sales Report clean, always select a product when creating charges. Unattributed charges end up in Misc and make the report harder to reconcile.

Troubleshooting

A product sale isn't showing in the report

  • Confirm the transaction was categorized as a product sale (not a misc charge)

  • Check the date range — the report defaults to the current month

  • Pre-order purchases made outside the pre-order system won't appear here — check the main product purchase history separately

Export file is missing cost or inventory data

  • This is a known issue — the product CSV export currently doesn't include cost and inventory columns. PushPress has noted this will be restored in a future update.
