How Do Ownership Transfers Work in PushPress and GoHighLevel (GHL)?

Ownership transfers in PushPress and GoHighLevel (GHL) involve moving accounts or sub-accounts between different CRM instances or agencies. This article explains the types of transfers, the steps involved, and how to confirm completion.

Types of Transfers: Account vs. Phone Number

There are two main types of transfers:

  1. GHL Account Transfer: This process moves your relationship or account into another CRM instance. It typically takes 1–3 days once the request is properly submitted. To avoid delays, ensure the request is clearly identified as a GHL account transfer. Submitting it as a phone number port by mistake can significantly extend the timeline.

  2. Phone Number Port: This is a separate process that involves transferring a phone number between carriers. It usually takes longer due to carrier and verification steps.

Step-by-Step Guide for Sub-Account Transfers

To transfer a sub-account (e.g., Grow sub-account) into your own GHL agency:

  1. Open a GHL Agency account.

  2. Locate your Agency Relationship Number in GHL.

  3. Provide the Agency Relationship Number to PushPress Support.

  4. PushPress will initiate the transfer of your sub-account into your agency.

  5. You will receive an email from GHL to accept the incoming sub-account into your agency.

Notifications and Confirmation of Transfer Completion

Once the transfer is complete, you will be notified in two ways:

  • An email from GHL will prompt you to accept the sub-account into your agency.

  • The PushPress support team will notify you when the process is finalized.

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

  • Misidentifying the Request Type: Ensure you clearly specify whether the request is for a GHL account transfer or a phone number port to avoid unnecessary delays.

  • Missing Information: Always provide the required identifiers, such as the Agency Relationship Number, to streamline the process.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a smooth and efficient ownership transfer process.
