How to Use Rank Request in PushPress

Rank Request is a PushPress feature for martial arts academies that allows members to self-report their belt and stripe history via a mobile-friendly link. Admins review and bulk approve submissions before anything is finalized. This article explains how to set up, send, and manage Rank Requests so your academy can get Rank Tracking live faster with less manual data entry.

How to Set Up Rank Request

1. Confirm Rank Systems Are Configured

  • Navigate to Core > Rank Tracking

  • Ensure your rank structure (belts, stripes, promotion criteria) is fully set up before sending requests

  • If rank systems are not yet configured, complete that step first

2. Select Members to Send Requests To

  • From the Rank Tracking section, select the members you want to send Rank Requests to

  • You can send to individual members or in bulk

  • For households with multiple students, you can send multiple requests to a single parent contact

3. Send the Rank Request

  • Click Send Rank Request

  • Members (or parents) receive a mobile-friendly link via email and/or SMS

  • No app download required to submit

How to Use Rank Request

  1. Open Rank Tracking in Core

  2. Navigate to the Rank Requests view to see submission status

  3. Review incoming submissions — members enter belt, sub-rank, and achievement dates

  4. Use bulk approval to accept multiple submissions at once, or review individually

  5. Edit any submission before approving if corrections are needed

  6. Re-send requests to non-responders as needed

Rank Request is useful for any academy setting up or migrating Rank Tracking, regardless of how long they've been on PushPress.


Troubleshooting Rank Request

If Rank Request is not available or not working as expected, check:

  • Your plan includes Rank Tracking (paid Core plans only)

  • Rank systems and promotion criteria are fully configured before sending requests

  • Members are checking email and SMS for the request link

  • The correct contact email or phone is on file for the member or parent
