At this time, we do not provide pop ads/banners to any PushPress website, and here is why:
First, and most importantly, pop-ups were once seen as cool, eye-catching movement on what is normally a static, flat image (aka your website). This was supposed to draw your prospects' eyes to buy or enlist before leaving your site with nothing. With the technological improvements with video (think drone footage in HD and 4k screens!) the interwebs society no longer needs pop-ups to catch your viewer's eye. In fact, pop-ups are now regarded as annoying to most and are a turn-off to many.
Google took heed to this and as of January 2017, came out with the following statement:
"To improve the mobile search experience, after January 10, 2017, pages where content is not easily accessible to a user on the transition from mobile search results may not rank as highly."
What does this mean? First of all, every statement Google releases mean something. It bares weight and has value. Your pop-up may be tagged as an intrusive interstitial signal in Google’s overall ranking algorithm.
So What Can You Do Instead of a Website Pop-Up?
If you are a PushPress Core client, we recommend logging into your PushPress gym management account >Apps >App Store> Facebook and adding a Facebook Audience Pixel. If you need to know how to create a Facebook audience, click here.
After you create your audience pixel and enter it into your PushPress account, have a Facebook ad that targets that pixel (anyone who has been not just to your home page but any page on your site) and you can promote whatever it is you wanted to promote on your pop up via Facebook.
