How to Set Up Your eBooks in Canva and Grow

Your eBooks are pre-built lead magnets designed to help you attract new members and engage your current ones. This article walks you through how to customize them in Canva, upload them to Grow, and connect everything so they deliver automatically.

Why Use eBooks?

  • Capture leads. Someone fills out a form to get an eBook — you get their contact info.

  • Nurture members. Share nutrition guides, workout plans, and more with your existing community.

  • Run on autopilot. Once set up, Grow handles the delivery for you.

Step 1 — Open Your eBook in Canva

  1. Click the eBook link provided in your setup email.

  2. The link will open Canva in your browser.

  3. Click "Use template" or "Copy to your account" when prompted. This saves the eBook to your Canva account so you can edit it.

Note: You need a free Canva account to do this. If you don't have one, sign up at canva.com — it's free.

Step 2 — Customize the eBook

  1. Open the eBook in your Canva account.

  2. Click any text to edit it — update it with your gym name, contact info, and any links you want to include.

  3. Swap out any photos to match your gym's look and feel.

  4. Make sure your logo, website, and social handles are at the bottom.

Note: Make it yours! The more it looks like your gym, the more your members and leads will trust it.

Step 3 — Download the eBook as a PDF

  1. In Canva, click the Share button (top right corner).

  2. Select Download.

  3. Choose PDF Standard as the file type.

  4. Click Download and save the file to your computer.

Repeat this for each eBook you want to use.

Step 4 — Upload the PDFs to Grow Media Storage

  1. Log in to your Grow account.

  2. Go to MarketingMedia Storage.

  3. Click Upload and select the PDF files from your computer.

  4. Once uploaded, click the three dots (⋯) next to each file.

  5. Click Get Link and copy the URL.

Tip: Save all your links to a notes doc as you go — you'll need them in the next step.

Step 5 — Add the Links to Your Custom Values

  1. In Grow, go to SettingsCustom Values.

  2. Find the folder called eBook Links.

  3. Click Edit next to the matching eBook.

  4. Paste the link you copied from Media Storage into the value field.

  5. Click Update.

  6. Repeat for each eBook.

Important: Leave the eBook Name custom value blank. Grow fills this in automatically each time a workflow runs — you don't need to touch it.

Step 6 — Publish Your eBook Workflows

  1. In Grow, go to AutomationWorkflows.

  2. Open the folder called Content Library eBooks.

  3. Open each eBook workflow one at a time.

  4. Check that the workflow is set to Published (not Draft).

  5. Repeat for all eBook workflows you want active.

Note: Each workflow fires when someone submits the matching eBook form. If the workflow is in Draft, nothing will send.

Step 7 — Share Your eBook Form Links

  1. In Grow, go to SitesForms.

  2. Open the eBook forms folder.

  3. Click the form you want to share.

  4. Click Copy Form Link.

  5. Share that link on social media, in emails, or with your members.

When someone fills out the form, Grow automatically delivers the eBook to them.

Optional — Add eBooks to Your Website

If you'd like a landing page on your website that shows all your eBooks:

  1. Go to SettingsWebsite in your Grow account.

  2. Click Edit My Website.

  3. Use the edit request tool to let us know which eBooks you want added.

  4. We'll build the page — just tell us if you want all of them or specific ones.

Note: By default, we'll add all eBooks unless you tell us otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get the eBook links?
They were sent to you in your setup email from the PushPress team. Each eBook has its own Canva link.

Do I need a paid Canva account?
No. A free Canva account works fine for editing and downloading the eBooks.

Why isn't my eBook delivering after someone fills out the form?
The most common reasons are: the workflow is still in Draft — go publish it; the custom value link is empty or incorrect — double-check your eBook Links in Custom Values; or the PDF wasn't uploaded to Media Storage yet.

Can I customize what the email says when the eBook is delivered?
Yes! Open the workflow in Automation → Workflows and edit the email step. You can change the message to match your gym's voice.

Can I only share certain eBooks with members and others with leads?
Yes. Each workflow checks whether the contact is a member. You can customize the messaging for each path, or choose not to publish certain eBooks for certain audiences.

Troubleshooting

If your eBook isn't working, run through this checklist:

  • Is the workflow Published?

  • Did you upload the PDF to Media Storage and copy the correct link?

  • Did you paste that link into the right Custom Value?

  • Does the form have the correct workflow assigned?
