It's always a good idea to know where your new members are coming from. The issue is that people are lazy and don't always take the time to tell you. The net result is you get no data, thin data, or incorrect data on this.

How the 'Referred by' field automatically works
We know the page they just came from, so if we detect it was from a link you posted on your Facebook page we will automatically change that selection to 'Facebook'. Same thing if they came from a Google search.
If we detect they came from a link that is not Facebook or Google we will assume its 'Other' and populate the the input box with the site they came from.
