Core | Stripe Payment Processor

Why PushPress uses Stripe exclusively as its payment processor, and what that means for your gym's billing setup.

Written by Jessica Hamel

Overview

PushPress requires Stripe as the payment processor for all member transactions. This article explains why Stripe is the only supported processor and what that means for your gym.

Applies to: All PushPress Core accounts

Why PushPress Uses Stripe Only

PushPress integrates exclusively with Stripe. Here's what that means in practice:

Transparent, flat-rate pricing

Stripe charges a single flat rate per transaction with no hidden fees. There are no additional charges for failed transactions, American Express cards, international cards, stored cards, refunds, or recurring payments. Your effective rate is what Stripe quotes β€” no surprises.

No long onboarding

Most merchant processors require faxed IDs, background checks, and multi-week approval timelines. Stripe's account setup takes minutes.

Competitive ACH rates

Stripe's ACH rate (0.8% + $0.30) beats most other processors for bank-to-bank transactions, which matters for gyms billing large recurring amounts.

Reliable, tested integration

PushPress is built directly on Stripe's API. Supporting multiple processors would fragment development and introduce reliability risk. The single-processor model means fewer payment failures and faster fixes when issues arise.

Can I Use a Different Processor?

No. PushPress does not support third-party payment processors, gateways, or merchant accounts outside of Stripe. This applies to all plans.

If you currently use a different processor, you will need to connect a Stripe account before accepting payments through PushPress.

Current Stripe Rates

Note: Rates vary by country and PushPress plan. The figures below are typical U.S. rates β€” confirm your exact rate in your Stripe dashboard or reach out to our Support team.
